Privacy policy
Last updated 23 October 2026
Couponova is run by Novatio Systems (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect on this website and in the Couponova app, why, and the choices you have. In short: you don't need an account, we don't ask for your name, and we don't sell personal data.
Information we collect on this website
- A random visitor ID. We set one first-party cookie (
cnv_id) containing a random number with no personal details. It lets us count clicks to stores and keep your “Did this work?” answer to one vote per offer. It lasts up to a year and you can delete it at any time in your browser. - Clicks to stores. When you follow a link to a store we record which offer was clicked, the time, your browser type, the visitor ID and a one-way scrambled version of your IP address. We never store the IP address itself.
- Feedback. If you answer “Did this work?”, we store the answer with the visitor ID.
- Server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting provider keeps standard access logs (IP address, pages requested, browser type) for security and troubleshooting. They are deleted on a rolling basis.
- Emails you send us. If you contact us, we keep your message and email address to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.
We use this information to run and improve Couponova, to find offers that don't work, to understand which stores are popular, and to protect the site from abuse. We don't use it to identify you.
Advertising and Google AdSense
This website may show ads served by Google AdSense. When it does, Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to show ads and measure how they perform:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or to other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.
- To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for your consent before personalised ads or non-essential cookies are used, and you can change your choice at any time through the privacy link shown in the consent message.
Affiliate links and store websites
When you click through to a store, you leave Couponova. The store and the affiliate network that tracks the sale (for example CJ, Admitad or Amazon) may set their own cookies to credit the purchase to us. What they collect is governed by their own privacy policies. We receive reports of sales and commissions, not your name, address or payment details.
Cookies at a glance
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
cnv_id | Couponova | Random visitor ID for click counts and one vote per offer | 1 year |
| Advertising cookies | Google and partners | Serving, personalising and measuring ads, where allowed | Set by Google |
| Affiliate cookies | Stores and networks | Crediting a purchase to Couponova after you click through | Set by the store or network |
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them, but your votes won't be remembered.
Sharing
We don't sell or rent personal data. We share information only with service providers who help us run Couponova (such as our web host), when the law requires it, or to protect our users and the service from fraud or abuse.
Children
Couponova is meant for adults who shop online. It isn't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under Nigeria's Data Protection Act 2023, the EU and UK GDPR and US state privacy laws, you may have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how it's used. Because we don't collect names or accounts, the information we hold is usually tied only to a random visitor ID; tell us the ID (shown as the cnv_id cookie) or the email you wrote from and we will help. Write to us through the contact page with the subject “Privacy request”.
Security and retention
We use HTTPS across the site and limit access to our database to the people who run Couponova. Click and feedback records are kept while they are useful for spotting offers that don't work and for our commission reports with affiliate networks.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version; significant changes will be highlighted on this page.

In the Couponova app
Last updated: September 12, 2026
Novatio Systems ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Couponova mobile application and its supporting services (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Couponova, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
Information We Collect
Couponova does not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifying information to use the app.
Anonymous device identifier. The app uses your device's Android ID (a random identifier generated by your device, not tied to your name or contact details) for two limited purposes:
- To record when you tap through to a merchant's offer, so we can measure which offers are actually being used (we store this identifier together with a one-way, irreversible hash of your IP address — never your raw IP address).
- To remember whether you already told us a coupon "worked" or "didn't work", so you're not asked twice for the same offer.
Information stored only on your device. Your favourite and recently-viewed coupons are saved in a local database on your phone. This information never leaves your device and is not visible to us.
Push notifications. We use OneSignal to deliver notifications about new deals and offers. OneSignal assigns your device a notification identifier to make this possible. You can disable notifications at any time in your device's app settings.
Standard technical data. Like most apps and websites, our servers automatically log basic technical information (such as timestamps and general request data) needed to operate the Service and keep it secure.
Advertising
Couponova is supported by advertising. Depending on configuration, ads may be served through Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network, AppLovin, or StartApp. These advertising partners may collect information such as your advertising identifier, device information, and general location (such as country or city, inferred from your IP address) to show and measure ads, in accordance with their own privacy policies:
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, the app will ask for your consent before showing personalized ads, and you may choose to see non-personalized ads instead.
How We Use Information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Service (for example, showing you relevant coupon categories and fixing broken offer links).
- To measure which offers and merchants are actually useful to our users.
- To send you notifications about new deals, if enabled.
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues or misuse.
We do not sell your personal information.
Data Sharing
We share information only with:
- Service providers who help us run the app (such as our hosting provider, OneSignal for notifications, and the advertising partners listed above), each bound by their own privacy obligations.
- Authorities, where required by law.
Data Retention
We keep click and feedback records tied to your anonymous device identifier for as long as needed to measure offer performance, and may periodically remove older records. You can clear your locally-stored favourites and recently-viewed items at any time by clearing the app's data or storage in your device settings.
Children's Privacy
Couponova is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will remove it.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live — including under Nigeria's Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) — you may have the right to:
- Ask what information we hold that relates to you;
- Ask us to correct or delete that information;
- Object to or restrict certain processing, including personalized advertising;
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
Because Couponova does not collect names or contact details, most requests can only be linked to your anonymous device identifier. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold, including never storing your raw IP address for click tracking. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
